Washington Redskins: 3 Free Agents to Target in 2019

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Safety

First up on the list is a player that the Redskins made an aggressive move to acquire at the NFL trade deadline. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is going to be a player that Washington wants to retain. Washington gave up a fourth-round pick to acquire him from the Green Bay Packers and he should be a key piece of the future for them.

Clinton-Dix has played two games with the Redskins since the trade and has recorded 15 tackles to go along with a fumble recovery and a defended pass. He has already had an impact on the Redskins’ defense.

There have been some concerns about his consistency in the past, but Washington retaining Clinton-Dix is a major key for the franchise. If they can sign him long-term, they would have Clinton-Dix and D.J. Swearinger as a duo at the safety positions, which is one of the best duos in the league.

Plenty of teams will have interest in Clinton-Dix, but the Redskins will have a good chance to retain him if they’re willing to throw the right offer his way.
