LB Shaun Dion Hamilton
The Redskins love Alabama players. Hamilton is another one. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft after a solid career with the Crimson Tide. Unfortunately for Hamilton, the biggest knock on him is health. If he can stay on the field, he can start in this league.
In the preseason opener at New England, Hamilton was outstanding. He was all over the field doing an outstanding job of diagnosing running plays and making stops. For the game, Hamilton was credited with nine tackles and played in 50 of Washington’s defensive plays. He also played on special teams, too.
Here’s an example of why former Alabama LB Shaun Dion Hamilton is creating such a buzz with the #Redskins.

The Redskins are set with Zach Brown and Mason Foster as starters on the inside of their 3-4 defense. Second-year linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons, veteran Martrell Spaight, Zach Vigil and Hamilton are likely battling for two, possibly three, backup spots. Harvey-Clemons, a former safety, gives Washington another dimension with his ability to drop into coverage.
Hamilton is a smart, instinctive player with a winning pedigree. He’s a great athlete, too. If he continues his strong preseason performance he should make the final 53-man roster. After all, the Redskins did trade up to get him in the sixth round and love his intangibles.
