Brandon Aiyuk was one of the most intriguing names to watch throughout the 2020 NFL Draft pre-draft process. The former Arizona State standout rose quickly in the rankings and ended up being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the No. 25 overall pick. It was a great pick and one that should pay off nicely for John Lynch and company.
Standing in at 6-foot-0 and 200 pounds, Aiyuk isn’t the biggest or most athletic wide receiver. However, he has great speed and will fit into Kyle Shanahan’s offense perfectly.
During the 2019 season with the Sun Devils, Aiyuk put together a big year. He caught 65 passes for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers average out to an impressive 18.3 yards per reception.
San Francisco needed to make a move at the wide receiver position. Emmanuel Sanders decided to leave the 49ers in free agency to sign with the New Orleans Saints. Add in the fact that Deebo Samuel broke his foot and the pick was a perfect one.
It will be interesting to see what kind of production Aiyuk is able to provide the 49ers in his rookie season. Many are expecting him to push for a starting job.

Shanahan runs an offense that relies on players with speed. Aiyuk will be able to fit the bill in that aspect. He also has shown the ability to run crisp routes and make plays on the ball when needed.
Aiyuk is going to be in a perfect situation with the 49ers. He is joining a Super Bowl caliber team with a lot of young talent and room to develop along with his teammates. Jimmy Garoppolo is developing himself and having Aiyuk will help him.
Expect to see the young wideout come through with a very solid season. He may not end up becoming a star quickly, but he has the potential to become one. With hard work and great coaching, the sky is the limit for Brandon Aiyuk.
