Replace Breshad Perriman
Heading into NFL free agency, it was clear there was a chance the Buccaneers would lose Breshad Perriman. That’s exactly what happened following Robby Anderson’s decision to depart from the New York Jets to the Carolina Panthers.
With Anderson leaving a void behind that needed to be filled for the Jets, they shifted course to signing Perriman. As a result, the Buccaneers lost Perriman and have yet to replace him with a veteran in free agency.
There is a legitimate need for the Buccaneers to add a talented receiver into the mix to formulate a reliable trio of options. It’s difficult to think of a more talented combination than a hypothetical Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, and Chris Godwin in recent years.
The Kansas City Chiefs are a great example of why being satisfied with just a few dynamic receiving threats isn’t enough. Having a few foundational talents that draw significant attention while having a supporting cast that can exploit the weaknesses is vital.
