Kevin Stefanski Values Tight Ends
The Cleveland Browns now have two talented tight ends that can provide starter contributions in 2020 by adding Austin Hooper into the mix alongside David Njoku. That’s important when considering Kevin Stefanski is now their head coach.
As Cory Kinnan of Pro Football Network noted, the Vikings used multiple tight end sets during 57% of their offensive snaps in 2019. There will be plenty of opportunities for Hooper to serve on quick-hitting RPO throws and serve as a relief option for Baker Mayfield with the potential to connect downfield at times.
Having a versatile talent at tight end like Hooper helps make things easier on an offense as a whole. It didn’t help the Browns to have Njoku for only four games last season, but now he’s healthy. Overall, the Browns’ offense should be intriguing to follow considering Mayfield’s success with tight ends.
The Browns won’t need Hooper to put up numbers that rival Travis Kelce or George Kittle. The ground game with Nick Chubb is already highly successful and there’s plenty of talent to spread the ball around with. Cleveland now has a healthy balance across the board.
