Colts Are Built to Run the Football

Much like the Wisconsin Badgers, the heart and soul of the Indianapolis Colts offense is their offensive line. They can run the ball in a variety of ways. In fact, Pro Football Focus ranked the Colts the top offensive line heading into 2020.

Having a great offensive line can do so much for an offense. It forces defenses to play up towards the offensive line and opens up the play-action, which will be key for Philip Rivers. The Colts can run the ball in a variety of ways. They can use the power run scene effectively, they can run outside and inside zone, and they can even run sweep plays.

While Taylor certainly has the ability to serve as the workhorse back, he won’t have to do that in 2020. Marlon Mack is a capable back and the two will split carries. Indianapolis is a very old school team built on a solid defense and controlling the clock.

The running game is going to be the focal point of their offense. Although the AFC South is very competitive, the Colts could win the division and their success in the ground game could play a critical role in those efforts.
