Less Pressure on Lamb

More often than not, when a wide receiver is taken in the first round, they’re expected to come in and immediately be the No. 1 or No. 2 wide receiver option. With that comes tons of expectations and pressure that at times is hard for a rookie to deal with.

That’s not the case for CeeDee Lamb. In fact, he most likely will be regarded as the third option at receiver for the Dallas Cowboys behind Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. While there is plenty of hype around him going into the 2020 NFL season, Lamb may not live up to expectations because frankly, he doesn’t have to.

With Prescott’s other options at receiver, this will allow Lamb to develop and start off his career without having to worry about being “the guy” on offense. Cooper and Gallup each had over 1,000 receiving yards last season and will most likely come into the season as the top duo for Prescott.

Lamb won’t see nearly as many targets in Dallas as he did at Oklahoma. But for a rookie heading to one of the biggest stages in football, that might be a blessing in disguise.
