Redemption
Despite his limited success with the Philadelphia Eagles, Alshon Jeffery must atone for his failures. His first season was a fairytale. Left for dead while with the Chicago Bears, Doug Pederson and the Eagles provided his career with new life.
What resulted was a season in which he caught 57 passes for 789 yards and nine touchdowns. That was the Super Bowl season and Jeffery was there in the clutch.
The following year, Jeffery improved on his receptions and yards in just 13 games but then came his mishap in the playoffs against the New Orleans Saints that may have cost the Eagles an opportunity to repeat as champs. Jeffery is the lead receiver and has been labeled as having some of the best hands in the NFL. However, that drop was the beginning of issues between Jeffery and the Eagles’ fanbase.
Then in 2019, came the remarks concerning the Eagles’ playcalling and the production of QB Carson Wentz. To top that off, Jeffery was only able to suit up for 10 games in 2019. This caused fans to question whether or not Howie Roseman should trade Jeffery. Is Alshon Jeffery becoming a locker room cancer? His play this season has to change the mind of teammates, the front office, and fans.
