The New York Giants remain in a transition period but have a clearer outlook to being a competitive team now compared to this time last year. One of the more intriguing X-Factors for this upcoming season will be tight end Evan Engram.
Selected with the No. 23 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Engram entered the league with legitimate potential to be one of the more impactful receiving threats at the tight end position.
As a rookie, Engram appeared in 15 games (11 starts), finishing with 64 receptions, 722 yards, and six touchdowns. The impact was clear and it provided a real basis for the Giants to count on him being their No. 1 tight end going forward.
Over the last two seasons, Engram has missed 13 of the Giants’ 32 regular-season contests. His greatest struggles with injuries came last season as he missed half of New York’s matchups and appeared in only 42% of their offensive snaps due to various injuries.
With that being said, let’s take a look at why fans should be excited about Giants tight end Evan Engram in 2020.
