As the Green Bay Packers prepare for the upcoming 2020 NFL season, there are quite a few questions surrounding their roster. Quite possibly the biggest one is whether or not they have enough talent at the wide receiver position. Devin Funchess was surprisingly the only addition the Packers made at the position this offseason.

Currently, the Packers have Davante Adams as their top wideout and no idea who will step up into the No. 2 spot on the depth chart. Last season, Allen Lazard came out of nowhere to take that position.

Funchess, who has been a very underrated free agency pickup so far, has a strong chance to earn that role. No one has talked about him being a steal this offseason. Green Bay may have found a major impact piece by signing him.

Last season with the Colts, Funchess was expected to have a bounce-back season. Unfortunately, he suffered a collarbone injury and missed all but one game. In that one appearance, he caught three passes for 32 yards.

Back in 2018, Funchess racked up 44 receptions for 549 yards and four touchdowns. They weren’t amazing numbers, but he is capable of being a very solid player for the Packers.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at a few reasons for Packers fans to be excited about Devin Funchess this season.
