1. Kenneth Murray Is An Absolute Monster
Finally, we’re going to go with the most obvious reason the Raiders cannot afford to pass on Kenneth Murray. The fact that he is a monster on the field is without question the No. 1 reason Oakland should take him at No. 19 overall if he is available.
We previously listed his stats from 2019 with Oklahoma. Those numbers don’t lie and they show just how productive the 6-foot-2 and 245-pound linebacker is capable of being.
TheDraftNetwork broke down the main things that Murray would bring to the field for the Raiders.
Murray is built like a modern day NFL linebacker at 6’2 and right around 235 pounds. Lean, athletic frame. Sideline to sideline speed is apparent as his pursues hard to the football. Outstanding motor that allows him to clean up a lot of tackles. Brings some juice as a blitzer and pass rusher, able to shoot gaps and close on the quarterback when called upon. Murray is at his best when tasked with attacking the line of scrimmage. Sound technique out of his stance can give him an advantageous first step when he’s able to diagnose. Productive player with over 150 combined tackles last season.
Murray is the kind of prospect that can completely change the outlook of a defense for the team that drafts him. Oakland stocked up on draft picks for a reason, which was to bring in game changers.
Mayock and company should not and will not pass on this kind of a game-changing talent in the 2020 NFL Draft.
