Why the Steelers should target Jalen Hurts in the NFL Draft

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a tough situation looking ahead to the future. With Ben Roethlisberger coming off of a serious elbow injury and neither Mason Rudolph or Devlin Hodges proving they could take over if needed last season, Mike Tomlin can only hope that Big Ben stays healthy and returns to the level of production he was providing before the injury.

Even if Roethlisberger does return to that level of play, the end of his tenure with the Steelers is on the horizon. He only has another year or two of playing at a top-notch level. Roethlisberger has even considered retirement over the last couple of years.

Due to that, the Steelers need to start planning for life after Roethlisberger. There is no better way to do that than in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While Pittsburgh doesn’t have a first-round pick due to the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade with the Miami Dolphins, there is an intriguing quarterback they could target in the second or third round. That quarterback would be Oklahoma star Jalen Hurts.

Let’s take a look at why the Steelers should target Hurts in the NFL Draft this year.
