Why the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should trade for Jamal Adams

In one of the least surprising developments of the NFL offseason, New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has now formally requested a trade.

Right off the bat, a list of teams Adams would welcome a trade to was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans are the list.

But on Friday, Adams added another team to his list of preferred destinations-the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Adams is looking to become the highest-paid safety in the league, and he deserves to be paid on that level. The Jets have hesitated to trade him despite rumors dating back several months, and they picked up his fifth-year option for 2021, So the idea of giving him a big contract is a consideration for any team that may want to acquire Adams.

Can the Buccaneers make a deal for Adams? Here are three reasons they should.
