Will Ezekiel Elliott or Alvin Kamara have the better 2020 season?

The Verdict: Ezekiel Elliott

If we’re taking bets on the entirely objective title of “Who Will Have The Better 2020 Season” between these two, give me Ezekiel Elliott over Alvin Kamara every day of the week.

For as talented as Kamara is, he’ll have volume working against him in the ground game. Even while completely healthy, even while listed as the starting running back, the Saints offense has never leaned on Alvin Kamara to nearly the extent of Ezekiel Elliott, whose rushing numbers are close to as efficient as Kamara’s, despite seeing on average 100+ carries more than him in a season.

Kamara never eclipsing the 900-yard mark as a runner in a season spells trouble when being compared to someone like Elliott, who has never run for less than 900 yards in a season. The Saints running back does have an advantage in the receiving game, but Elliott is no slouch there either– seeing a combined 131 catches over the last two seasons.

Both players are great running backs, and should be set for two more great seasons, but with Elliott’s superior rushing ability and his skills as a pass-catcher– the Cowboy’s running back should be due for the better 2020 season.
