The 2020 NFL season will surely be a great tale regarding the play of certain quarterbacks. Tom Brady is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lamar Jackson is out to prove his MVP season was no fluke. Patrick Mahomes is ready to take his step into greatness, and then there is Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins and Tennessee Titans’ Ryan Tannehill.
Comparing these two quarterbacks is almost unfair to some. The consensus is that Cousins will let the ball fly while Tannehill will manage the game. In 2019, Cousins passed for 3603 yards with 26 touchdowns while tossing just six interceptions and completing 69.1 percent of his passes.
Tannehill, on the other hand, passed for 2742 yards with 22 touchdowns and tossed just six interceptions while completing 70.3 percent of his passes.
The Minnesota Vikings, with Cousins at the helm, went 10-6 and lost in the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers. The Tennessee Titans, led by Tannehill went 9-7 and lost in the AFC Championship Game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Both quarterbacks are in the right system for them to succeed. While the Titans will rely heavily on the legs of Derrick Henry, Tannehill was asked to manage the game. In Minnesota, Cousins was expected to air it out with his core of productive receivers.
As both enter the 2020 NFL season, which QB will have the better year? Will it be Kirk Cousins or Ryan Tannehill?
