It has certainly been a topsy-turvy season for Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love.
Love is in his first full campaign as the starter for the Packers following the departure of long-time signal-caller Aaron Rodgers this past offseason.
The 24-year-old has certainly had his share of frustrating moments and has had difficult developing any consistency over his first eight starts of 2023.
Doug Clawson of CBS Sports posted a rather brutal stat for Love through Week 9, pointing out that the youngster is the only qualified quarterback without a completion of 10 or more yards through the air in the first quarter this season. He is 0-for-9 on those attempts.
That statistic certainly won’t assuage any doubts that Packers fans have had about Love over the first two months of the season, as many are wondering if the franchise will decide to go in a different direction under center in 2024.
Love actually had a solid game this past Sunday, going 20-for-26 with 228 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Los Angeles Rams. His 115.5 passer rating in the game represented his best single-game mark since Week 1 and also constituted his first passer rating of 100 or better since Week 2.
On the season overall, Love has thrown for 1,720 yards, 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 59.6 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 81.9.
The University of Utah product actually got off to an impressive start in 2023, leading the Packers to a 2-1 record and guiding them to a thrilling come-from-behind victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3. Over the course of those three games, Love threw seven touchdowns and one pick.
Since then, however, Green Bay has gone just 1-4 with Jordan Love totaling five touchdowns and seven interceptions during that span.
The Packers will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
