The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers have always played hard-fought, close games against each other. The first matchup this season was no different as John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin know each other well. Divisional matchups always have a little more physicality and these two teams embody that as much as any rivalry.

In Week 5, another chapter was added as the Ravens lost on the road in Acrisure Stadium, 17-10. Baltimore has no one to blame but themselves as this was a game they had every opportunity to win.

It would have been a major victory for the franchise, as the Ravens would have pushed their record to 4-1 as the only team in the AFC North with a winning record. Instead, they are 3-2, tied with the Steelers and technically in second place because of the head-to-head tiebreaker and Pittsburgh being 2-0 against the division.

How the Ravens lost this game is truly mind-blowing. They have control throughout, dominating in basically every facet of the game. The only issue that they had was that their receivers couldn’t hold onto the ball and it ended up costing them dearly.

In total, the team was credited with seven drops on the afternoon, each one more back-breaking than the next. Some would have gone for big gains to keep drives alive, while others would have resulted in touchdowns. NFL writer Christian Williams shared a video of the malady of errors committed by Baltimore.

The Ravens truly had no business losing last weekend to the Steelers, but it continues what has been a troubling trend for the franchise. As shared by MinkahBurgh Steelers on X, formerly known as Twitter, Week 5 was the fourth time that the Harbaugh-led Ravens have held the Steelers to three points through three quarters. Baltimore’s record in those games? An incomprehensible 0-4.

Those are some epic collapses to lose games in which your defense dominates to that length. There likely aren’t four other instances of that happening to another franchise in the NFL, let alone to the same head coach that many times.

Now heading overseas to play against the Tennessee Titans in London, the season has taken on a different tune for Baltimore. They were 15 minutes away from being 4-1 and tied for first place in the AFC. Now they are 3-2 and have to head overseas where anything can happen.
