2 free agent cornerbacks the 49ers should still target

One intriguing target could be Xavier Rhodes, who was released by the Vikings earlier this offseason to save some cap space. Just a couple of short years ago, Rhodes was considered to be one of the top cover cornerbacks in the entire NFL.

Last season, however, Rhodes ended up with just 63 total tackles, one forced fumble, and six defended passes. He didn’t record a single interception in 15 games. Rhodes only had one interception in 2018.

He may not be what he once was, but perhaps a change of scenery could help him turn things around. Rhodes is only 30 years old and would be worth a short-term contract for the 49ers.
