2 Perfect Trade Targets For The Philadelphia Eagles After Week 3

The Philadelphia Eagles may be 3-0 thus far in their quest to make it back to another Super Bowl, but they don’t look quite themselves in the early stages of the season.

Jalen Hurts has thrown three touchdowns and three interceptions, the defense ranks 12th in the NFL after finishing second last season, and the club had to eke out wins over the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings, two clearly inferior teams.

While the Eagles are still undefeated and it’s far too early to press the panic button, there is no question that Philadelphia doesn’t seem to have the same “oomph” that it possessed a year ago, and center Jason Kelce even said as much following Week 2.

The good news is that the Eagles have plenty of time between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline to tweak the roster.

Here are two trade targets Philadelphia should consider.

Kareem Jackson

The Eagles need help in their secondary, and Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson could be a solid, cost-effective option for the defending NFC champs.

Jackson actually drew interest from the Eagles many years ago during his Houston Texas days, and while the 35-year-old may not be as productive as he once was, he is still dependable.

The Broncos may need to clean house, and Jackson could be one of the first names to go.

Jackson has also played cornerback in the past, so he brings some versatility to a Philly defensive backfield that sorely needs it, particularly after the season-ending injury to nickel cornerback Avonte Maddox.

Given that Jackson’s contract expires after the season, the Eagles could probably acquire him for a mid-to-late round draft pick. It may end up being well worth it.

Hunter Renfrow

We know that the Eagles have one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the NFL with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. However, they could always use some depth at the position.

What about Hunter Renfrow?

Renfrow has been the speculation of trade talk this season, as the Las Vegas Raiders appear to be going nowhere fast. Renfrow has another year left on his deal, so Philadelphia also would not have to worry about him walking via free agency this spring.

He doesn’t have blazing speed and won’t be making any spectacular grabs, but Renfrow is a sure-handed receiver who could certainly help Hurts on the short and intermediate routes. This would also open up the field for Brown and Smith.

The Eagles’ passing offense ranks just 23rd in the league right now. It might be time for an upgrade.
