Atlanta Falcons
Finally, there is one more intriguing team that would make sense as a Trevor Lawrence landing spot. Matt Ryan is still a good quarterback, but targeting Lawrence would make a lot of sense. Even if he didn’t start year one, he would be the future after Ryan.
Ryan has had a solid start to the 2020 NFL season, completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 961 yards, seven touchdowns, and two interceptions. He isn’t going to retire after this season, but adding Lawrence and letting him learn behind Ryan would be a perfect scenario.
The Falcons are going to go through some major changes this coming offseason. After starting the season 0-3, head coach Dan Quinn will likely be fired either during the season or immediately after.
Atlanta needs to start looking to the future. Lawrence would be that future in the 2021 NFL Draft. This is an intriguing fit and one that makes a ton of sense.
