2021 NFL Draft: 3 teams who should start tanking for Trevor Lawrence

New York Jets

Another team that has suffered through an embarrassing start to the 2020 NFL season has been the New York Jets. They are 0-3 as well and Sam Darnold has not looked good during the losing stream.

Darnold has completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 562 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. He has not shown anything close to the development that the Jets were expecting.

Trevor Lawrence would immediately come in as an upgrade over Darnold. It would be tough to admit that the Jets blew the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but that is what it is coming too. New York needs to strongly consider bringing in a new franchise quarterback.

Taking a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft isn’t what the Jets had in mind, but with Darnold’s disappointing play, it might be necessary.
