With many fans in Indianapolis concerned about the 20 interception number from 2019, Philip Rivers will respond convincingly.
Let’s be honest, not every interception is on the quarterback. Rivers was dealing with an offensive line that let the pass rush through far too often last season. He was forced to make quick and pressured throws.
In Indianapolis with the Colts, Rivers will be playing behind one of the top offensive lines in the game. Quentin Nelson and company are not going to allow him to face that kind of pressure. Rivers will respond with a 12-interception season.
That kind of a drop in turnovers will go a long way towards making the Colts and their fans comfortable and excited about this move. It will also help Chris Ballard make the decision to bring Rivers back for another year or two.
