3 Free Agent WR’s Suggested As Targets For Packers

There could be a lot of turnover for the Green Bay Packers roster this off-season. While all of the focus thus far has been on Aaron Rodgers and the quarterback position, that is far from the only area of concern.

Regardless of who is under center for the Packers in 2023, there need to be some upgrades done to the skill positions offensively, namely wide receiver. 2022 was a tough year for the passing offense as the team traded away Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling departed in free agency.

This offseason, the team could suffer even more losses at the position. Veteran Allen Lazard hinted strongly that he will be moving on and Randall Cobb could also not be back in Green Bay in 2023. That would leave a huge void when it comes to experience at the position on the roster.

The future is bright for Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, two rookies who showed some great flashes during the 2022 season. But, they need some help and bringing in a veteran or two to join them would be a good idea.

At PackersWire, three intriguing players were suggested as targets for the team. First on the list was Marvin Jones Jr. who has spent the last two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a complementary piece. He would fill a similar role for the Packers as he remains a steady contributor catching 46 passes for 529 yards and three touchdowns.

If the Packers are looking for someone with a little more upside, DJ Chark could be their guy. Chark has battled injuries but is a big-bodied receiver with big play ability. This offense could use another deep threat after Valdes-Scantling departed and Chark would fill that need.

Last but not least is Darius Slayton of the New York Giants. Slayton was a revelation for Big Blue this season as he was nearly cut before the regular season but ended up being their leading receiver with 724. While his standing with the organization has been shaky at times, 2022 marked the third time Slayton finished with at least 700 yards in a season.
