With the 2020 NFL season right around the corner, the San Francisco 49ers are early favorites to win the NFC. After making it to the Super Bowl last season and coming up short to the Kansas City Chiefs, rumors surrounded the 49ers possibly pursuing Tom Brady. Instead, the franchise chose to stick with Jimmy Garoppolo.
Garoppolo put together a solid 2019 campaign, although the 49ers leaned very heavily on their running game. Kyle Shanahan did not ask too much of his quarterback. However, in 2020, the 49ers are going to need more from him.
During the 2019 season with the 49ers, Garoppolo ended up completing 69.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,978 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He was more than a game manager, but wasn’t a guy that many thought would power the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance.
Thankfully, the 49ers still have a very talented trio of running backs around Garoppolo. Tevin Coleman, Raheem Mostert, and Jerrick McKinnon are all capable of making plays. San Francisco also has George Kittle and Deebo Samuel as their top targets.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at three last-minute predictions for Jimmy Garoppolo in 2020 with the 49ers.
