Saints Will Run At Least 2 Trick Plays
During the offseason, while rumors were swirling around Drew Brees and retirement, many speculated that the Saints would be interested in Tom Brady, Teddy Bridgewater and there talented dual threat back up Taysom Hill.
Hill is a man with many talents. He has been featured on special teams, in the back field, lined up on the outside and under center. So far this season, the Saints have been quiet with Hill. It could be because he doesn’t pose as much of a threat when Thomas is sidelined. But, I think this week, he will be used and used heavily.
In Week 1, Hill threw it one time, carried it three times and caught it one time. Keep in mind, that Thomas played most of the first game. In Week 2, Hill had 2 carries and that was it. In Week 3 against the Packers, it seemed as if the Saints tried setting up some trick plays for him throwing, but it was well covered by Green Bay.
Hill is effective often in the elevator screen down at the goal line or in the play action game under center. The Saints need to establish their run in this game, which I think they will and as a result, will be able to branch their trick plays off of that. Regardless, I expect to see a lot of Hill on Sunday.
