Is Hayden Hurst A Capable Replacement For Austin Hooper?

While the Falcons made quite a few additions to their offense, they also had a massive subtraction. Austin Hooper, who was one of the most talented tight ends in the NFL, left town to sign with the Cleveland Browns in free agency.

To replace him, the Falcons went out and took a chance on Hayden Hurst. Last season with the Ravens, Hurst caught 30 passes for 349 yards and two touchdowns. He has a ton of talent, but he needs to put it all together for the Falcons in 2020.

Hooper is going to be missed, there is absolutely zero question about that. He was one of Matt Ryan’s favorite targets and created mismatches against almost any defender that covered him. Hurst has big shoes to fill.
