Which Todd Gurley Are The Falcons Getting?
Finally, there is one burning question that could decide whether the Falcons are a playoff team or not. That question would be, which version of Todd Gurley is Atlanta getting after signing him following his release from the Rams?
Gurley put up solid numbers in 2019 with the Rams, but it was obvious that he was not the superstar that he was before his knee injury. He carried the football 223 times for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns. In addition to his numbers on the ground, Gurley also caught 31 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns.
Atlanta believes that they can help Gurley get back to being one of the top backs in the league. His role last season was inconsistent, which will change with the Falcons. Gurley is also returning home to the state he played college football in.
Add in the fact that he has a chip on his shoulder from the way the Rams treated him and Gurley could be a major threat. He still has some football left in his knee and the Falcons can only hope that they are getting a motivated version of Gurley that will get back to being an elite dual-threat back.
