6 Players The Denver Broncos Could Consider Trading

The Denver Broncos are off to a rough start, beginning the season by losing their first two games. Most recently, the Broncos fell to the Washington Commanders by a score of 35-33 this past Sunday.

Should Denver continue to slide, there is a strong possibility that it will consider moving some pieces ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline.

Bob Morris of Mile High Huddle has named six players the Broncos could potentially trade, rattling off wide receivers Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, linebackers Randy Gregory and Josey Jewell, safety Justin Simmons and left tackle Garett Bolles.

Morris notes that Denver is not likely to trade a whole group of players, but that moving a couple of them is not out of the realm of possibility.

The two biggest names on that list are Sutton and Jeudy, both of whom could significantly help another team’s aerial attack.

Back in 2019, Sutton looked primed to stamp his name among the best wide outs in the NFL, as he hauled in 72 receptions for 1,112 yards and six touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. However, since then, injuries and disappointing performance overall have been the story for Sutton, who has yet to log another 1,000-yard campaign since.

Jeudy was selected by the Broncos with the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft and is coming off of a solid 2022 season in which he caught 67 passes for 972 yards and six scores. Still just 24 years old, Jeudy would surely draw considerable interest should Denver put him up for trade.

Things have not gone according to plan for the Broncos since they acquired quarterback Russell Wilson in a deal with the Seattle Seahawks in March 2022. Denver went just 5-12 in Wilson’s debut season last year, as Wilson struggled to find his footing. While Wilson has looked noticeably better thus far in 2023, the Broncos do not resemble anything close to a contender.
