Denver Broncos Viewed As A Top Future Suitor For Dak Prescott

The Denver Broncos are in need of a quarterback, and Dak Prescott may become available for them next offseason.

Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are currently embroiled in a contract dispute, and the Cowboys seem willing to play out 2024 with Prescott on the final year of his deal.

That means Dallas is apparently comfortable with Prescott testing free agency next offseason, which would open the door for a team like the Broncos to sign him.

Dallas Robinson of Pro Football Network views Denver as one of the top potential landing spots for Prescott, noting that the Broncos have the worst quarterback situation in football at the moment.

Denver owns the 12th overall pick in the NFL Draft later this month, so it can always draft a signal-caller, but it will have a very difficult time trading up for one of the top prospects.

The Broncos could always take someone like Oregon’s Bo Nix, but some feel that it would be a classic case of overdrafting to take Nix at No. 12. Of course, Denver could always trade down, but even then, Nix is considered the fifth-best signal-caller prospect of this year’s draft class by most.

Of course, the Broncos could also focus on another position with the 12th selection and punt to next offseason, where they could then potentially sign Prescott.

Prescott is coming off of the best season of his career, as he led the league with 36 touchdown passes to go along with 4,516 and just nine interceptions. He also completed 69.5 percent of his passes while posting a passer rating of 105.9, finishing second in MVP voting.

However, Prescott has gone just 2-5 in the playoffs, most recently falling to the Green Bay Packers in a Wild Card Round upset this past January.

Couple that with the fact that he is apparently seeking $60 million annually, and the Cowboys may ultimately decide to move on from him after 2024.

If Dak Prescott is indeed available next offseason, Sean Payton’s Broncos may very well decide to make a move for him, which would give the team its best quarterback since Peyton Manning.
