The San Francisco 49ers picked up another victory on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 45-29. It was their sixth win in a row as they are in first place in the NFC and have already clinched first place in the NFC West.

At 11-3, the 49ers look like one of, if not the best team in the NFL. Admittedly, they have a few things to clean up, but they are legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Dominant on both sides of the ball, they can beat their opponents in a multitude of ways.

One of those ways is with a relentless offensive attack capable of putting up video game numbers. The 49ers are loaded with stars on the offensive side of the ball with running back Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle and wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

Bringing that unit together is quarterback Brock Purdy. Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft has quickly become a household name, setting records and putting up eye-popping statistics since taking over as the team’s quarterback in Week 13 last season.

Against the Cardinals, he had yet another excellent game. Purdy completed 16-of-25 passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns. That performance, as shared by NFL on CBS on X, formerly Twitter, has Purdy atop the NFL in a bunch of statistics.

Through Week 15, Purdy is leading the league in passer rating, passing touchdowns, passing touchdowns per interception, passing touchdowns per attempt, yards per attempt, yards per completion and wins.

The 49ers have done an excellent job of surrounding Purdy with elite talent and he has taken full advantage. San Francisco has had some impressive teams under Kyle Shanahan’s watch, but nothing has come close to being as consistently dominant as the group he has this season.

It should come as no surprise that Purdy is now the odds-on favorite to win the MVP award this season. He surpassed Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who had a rough Sunday afternoon against the Buffalo Bills.

The MVP certainly looks like Purdy’s award to lose. If the 49ers continue this winning streak into the postseason and he keeps up the level of play he has put forth all season, that award will be heading to the Bay Area.
