Could Derrick Henry be heading further south?

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the odds of the free agent running back landing with the Miami Dolphins have surged since initially opening at +7500. They now stand at +1000.

This development is intriguing, especially considering that the Dolphins already boast a pair of talented ball carriers in Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane. However, Henry’s expressed desire for the Dolphins to have drafted him back in 2016 has sparked speculation linking him to the team.

As a four-time Pro Bowler, Henry would offer Miami a new dimension in their running game, particularly with his prowess as a short-yardage specialist. Imagining a powerhouse runner like Henry in Mike McDaniel’s offense is certainly exciting.

Considering Henry’s impressive track record of 9,502 yards and 90 touchdowns over eight NFL seasons, it seems unlikely that the Titans will re-sign him. It remains to be seen whether the Dolphins will bring the Jacksonville native back to his home state in 2024.

It will be interesting to see what ends up happening with Derrick Henry this offseason. There are quite a few teams who will have interest in him, but the Dolphins appear to be a very likely destination at this point in time.
