Ravens Could Be Interested In This Sleeper Free Agent RB

We have all heard about the Baltimore Ravens‘ interest in running back Derrick Henry.

Henry is set to be a free agent in a couple of weeks, and the Ravens are already considered the front runners to sign him. Baltimore also tried to acquire him from the Tennessee Titans back at the trade deadline.

But what if the Ravens can’t land Henry? What are their other options?

Jamison Hensley of ESPN ran down some possibilities for Baltimore, and one name that surfaced was D’Andre Swift.

Swift spent the 2023 campaign with the Philadelphia Eagles and was a breakout star for the club, racking up 1,049 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He also logged 39 catches for 214 yards and a score, earning himself a Pro Bowl appearance.

The 25-year-old is hitting free agency this month, and he may have already priced himself out of the Eagles’ range. After all, Philadelphia let Miles Sanders walk last offseason, so you would imagine that it would have no problem doing the same thing with Swift this spring.

That could open the door for a team like the Ravens to scoop him up.

Of course, the question is whether or not Swift can replicate his success from this past year.

Prior to arriving in Philly, Swift had spent the first three years of his career with the Detroit Lions and maxed out at 617 rushing yards in 2021.

It also wasn’t until an early injury to Kenneth Gainwell that the Eagles even tried using Swift as a featured back, and he ended up surprising everyone by rattling off a 175-yard performance followed by a 130-yard outing in Weeks 2 and 3.

Swift did not log 100 yards again the rest of the season, so there is reason to have trepidation about giving him a lucrative deal.

However, in a Ravens offense led by Lamar Jackson, there wouldn’t be a whole lot of pressure on Swift, which could lead to him enjoying a very efficient 2024 in a Baltimore uniform.
