Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a shoulder injury during his team’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals last Thursday, but he downplayed the issue right off the bat.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed Beckham’s remarks this week, saying that it really isn’t a big deal.

“He’s not going to be a long-term shoulder thing,” Harbaugh said, via Clifton Brown of Baltimore’s official team website.

Beckham once again said it wasn’t severe.

“Like Coach said, it’s not that bad,” Beckham said. “I’ve got to toughen it up, and we’ll figure it out.”

Whether or not Beckham will be available when the Ravens battle the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night remains to be seen, but the good news is that he appears to be fine for the long haul.

The injury surfaced during what was a breakout performance for Beckham, as he logged four catches for 116 yards in Baltimore’s 34-20 win over the Bengals.

On the season overall, Beckham has totaled 24 receptions for 374 yards and a couple of touchdowns in nine appearances.

The Ravens signed Beckham to a one-year deal during the offseason, hoping he would provide quarterback Lamar Jackson with a reliable deep threat in the aerial attack.

Things have not quite worked out that way thus far, as Beckham was largely a disappointment up until the last several weeks.

However, it’s entirely possible that Beckham is starting to hit his stride, which makes it all the more imperative that he gets back to 100 percent for the stretch run of the season.

Odell Beckham Jr. was originally drafted by the New York Giants back in 2014 and spent five years there before being traded to the Cleveland Browns. The Browns released him after two-and-a-half seasons. He then linked up with the Los Angeles Rams, where he won a Super Bowl during the 2021-22 campaign.

Baltimore is 8-3.
