The Buffalo Bills had to wait an extra day to play their Super Wild Card Weekend game against the Pittsburgh Steelers because of bad weather in the area. It didn’t look to negatively impact them too much as Buffalo came away with a 31-17 victory.

The Bills will advance to the Divisional Round, where they will continue their rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs won their matchup against the Miami Dolphins at frigid Arrowhead, 26-7, setting up a rematch from the 13-second miracle Buffalo is still looking to recover from.

A big difference from those matchups to this year is that the game will be played at Orchard Park as the Bills earned the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Will that be enough to make up for the two extra days of rest Kansas City has coming into the game?

Buffalo certainly hopes that will even the playing field as they could head into the game shorthanded. Linebacker Terrel Bernard was carted off while fellow linebacker Baylon Spencer and cornerback Taron Johnson were also injured in the game. That is on top of cornerbacks Christian Benford and Rasul Douglas, safety Taylor Rapp and linebacker Tyrel Dodson being inactive for the game.

“It’s a later start. We’re a step behind,” Allen said. “We understand that. It’s crucial for guys to get that rest, get in the training room, and rehab as much as they can,” Allen said to reporters after the win over the Steelers on Monday.

While this year’s Chiefs team isn’t akin to ones of the old, who were carried by the heroics of Patrick Mahomes, Allen knows they cannot be taken lightly. He spoke about what it will take from his Bills to get the job done and advance to the AFC Championship Game.

“It’s going to take a team effort,” Allen said of defeating the Chiefs. “They’re playing really good football right now. We’re going to need everyone in Bills Mafia to come out and support us… just thank God we get to play another football game.”

In some ways, the odds are stacked against the Bills. They have a laundry list of injured players and the rest advantage lies heavily with the Chiefs. But, they know they have the ultimate advantage of home field, something Mahomes and the Chiefs have never previously faced.

Expect Bills Mafia to come out loud and boisterous, looking to give their team any edge they can in the game. The winner will face off against the victor of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans in the other AFC Divisional round matchup.
