The Buffalo Bills offseason has been full of headlines but for all the wrong reasons. Almost all of the attention on the team during OTAs and mandatory minicamp was on star wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

There were mixed reports about whether or not Diggs was even present at minicamp, as head coach Sean McDermott revealed that he was concerned about him not being there. But, the representation that Diggs has said that he was present at the facility.

Things got so bad that McDermott opted to cancel the last day of the Bills’ mandatory minicamp because of all the distractions surrounding Diggs. There seem to be some real issues to sort through, as the team has a few weeks until things get back underway later in the month for training camp.

According to quarterback Josh Allen, what was keeping Diggs away from the team was non-football related. However, that has seemingly been debunked as the star wide receiver’s gripe was reportedly his role in the offense and lack of input in the team’s play calling.

Recently, Allen made an appearance on the Bussin With The Boys podcast. Per PFF, he once again voiced his backing for Diggs, speaking about how much he likes him and blames the media for things getting to the point that they have.

“I love him. That’s my guy… the media has blown this so far out of proportion.”

Allen obviously doesn’t want to shake things up any more than they already have been. It is not surprising that he stood up for the organization and his teammate. But, based on all reports, some things need to be worked on between Diggs and the team.

Things got to the point that the Bills would reportedly entertain the idea of trading Diggs. They weren’t actively shopping him, but he was quietly being made available should a big offer be presented to them.

This is something to keep an eye on heading into training camp. Without Diggs in the lineup, the Bills’ offense would suffer drastically as he is their best, most consistent weapon in the passing game.
