Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen surprisingly did not take part in Wednesday’s practice, but he was a full participant in practice on Thursday, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.
This almost surely means that Allen, who has been dealing with a sore shoulder, will play against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night.
Allen originally injured his shoulder during the Bills’ Week 8 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and briefly visited the medical tent. However, he did not miss a snap and said he fully intended on taking the field in Week 9.
Some concerns were raised when Allen was a non-participant in practice on Wednesday, particularly after head coach Sean McDermott said he would have limited work.
The good news is those worries were assuaged when Allen was back at practice three days before his team’s next game.
Allen went 31-for-40 with 324 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while carrying the ball seven times for 41 yards and a score in the 24-18 victory over the Buccaneers.
On the season overall, Josh Allen has thrown for 2,165 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight picks while completing 71.7 percent of his passes (which leads the NFL) and posting a passer rating of 101.5.
The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wyoming, was selected by Buffalo with the seventh overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. He made Pro Bowl appearances in 2020 and 2022 and finished top three in MVP voting both of those years.
The Bills have been one of the league’s most puzzling teams this season, as they have looked dominant for stretches and entirely beatable for other stints.
Buffalo is 5-3 and sits one game behind the Miami Dolphins for first place in the AFC East.
