The Buffalo Bills faced a slight delay, but ultimately emerged victorious in their Wild Card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday.

The Bills secured a comfortable victory, maintaining their lead as the Steelers struggled to recover from a 0-21 deficit. However, amidst the celebration, one Bills player’s tenure with the team came to an end following the Wild Card win.

As reported by ESPN’s Field Yates, the Bills have decided to part ways with running back Leonard Fournette, who was a member of their practice squad.

Fournette had been brought in as a veteran addition to bolster the team’s running game, especially for the playoffs. Nevertheless, the standout performances of James Cook, Ty Johnson, and Latavius Murray in the latter part of the season rendered Fournette’s signing redundant.

With a surplus of running backs on the active roster, Fournette found himself on the outside looking in. He joined the Bills in October but didn’t make it onto the active roster until Week 16.

During his brief stint, he participated in two games, accumulating 40 rushing yards on 12 carries for the season.

Buffalo has chosen to part ways with the former No. 4 overall pick for the remainder of the postseason. The Bills are now gearing up for a highly anticipated playoff showdown as they prepare to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening. This matchup promises to be one of the most thrilling and closely watched games in recent playoff history.
