Career High Rushing Yards

During his rookie year, as the Chiefs were still trying to determine how best to use their surprise star, Hill had 24 rushes for 267 yards. This is an impressive 11.1 yards per carry average which is one reason that he was selected to the Pro Bowl. While he is primarily a receiver, 2020 will be the year that Hill breaks his personal rushing record.

The Chiefs used their first-round pick to draft running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of LSU. Having a strong and powerful running back should help a rushing attack that averaged just 101.5 yards per game in 2019. With a stronger running threat up the middle, defenses will not be able to cheat when they see Hill coming around for a potential sweep.

Edwards-Helaire will force the defensive ends to stay in position or risk giving up a big gain up the middle. Hill will take advantage of this and run wild around the edges.

The Chiefs will need to throw in wrinkles to keep teams on their toes, and this will be a concept tried a few times each game. Getting the ball in the hands of your best playmaker will be Kansas City’s path to success and Hill will reap the rewards.
