The Cincinnati Bengals are in dire need of help on the defensive side of the ball, as they ranked 31st in yards allowed and 21st in scoring defense this past season.
In particular, the Bengals need to shore up their defensive front, which is why Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report has named them the best fit for Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams.
Cincinnati has ample cap space heading into free agency, so it would absolutely have more than enough money to sign Williams if it chooses to do so.
Of course, the recent salary cap spike has now given the Seahawks a better chance to re-sign Williams, but whether or not Seattle feels that is the best way to expend its resources is another question entirely.
Williams split the 2023 campaign between the New York Giants and the Seahawks, as the Giants dealt him to Seattle at the trade deadline. In 18 games between both clubs, he registered 62 tackles and 5.5 sacks.
The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at USC, was originally selected by the New York Jets with the sixth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft.
He spent the first four-and-a-half years of his career with the Jets, making one Pro Bowl in 2016 after recording 68 tackles, seven sacks and a couple of forced fumbles.
The Jets traded him to the Giants midway through the 2019 campaign, and in 2020, Williams enjoyed the best year of his career, racking up 57 tackles, 11.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.
His production tailed off during the rest of his time with Big Blue, as he never came close to achieving double-digit sacks again.
Still, Williams remains a force in the trenches, and it would certainly serve the Bengals well to add a player of his caliber.
Cincinnati went 8-9 and missed the playoffs this past year, largely due to injuries up and down the roster.
