Cleveland Browns: 3 Keys to Victory in Week 2 vs. New Orleans Saints

The Cleveland Browns snapped a 17-game losing streak in Sunday’s opener. The 21-21 tie with the Pittsburgh Steelers isn’t what the Browns wanted, but the team did not lose and built momentum in Week 2’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Cleveland will travel to one of the few cities they have played well in over the years. According to ESPN Stats & Information, the Browns have won their last three games played in New Orleans since 1999.

The Saints are coming off of an embarrassing loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their defense surrendered 48 points and made Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick look like the best quarterback in the league. New Orleans needs a victory on Sunday in order to prevent a fifth straight 0-2 start to the season, so they will be highly motivated.

The Browns relied on six Pittsburgh turnovers and a 14-point fourth quarter comeback to ultimately draw the Steelers. Both teams missed game-winning field goal attempts in overtime, so the game could have gone either way. Cleveland will need to raise their level of consistency against quality opponents to be taken seriously in 2018. Sunday against the Saints is the perfect opportunity. A Browns win over a quality team like the Saints would send shockwaves through the NFL atmosphere.

Let’s take a look at three keys to a Cleveland Browns victory on Sunday.
