The Cleveland Browns have gotten off to a solid 2-1 start thanks much in part to their dominant defense which ranks No. 1 in the NFL.

As a matter of fact, the Browns’ defense has allowed just 498 total yards through the first three weeks, which is the fewest yards allowed by any team through three games this century.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski is thrilled with how terrific his club’s defense has been.

“I mean our defense is playing lights out,” said Stefanski, via the team’s official transcript. “So, from the players to coach (Jim) Schwartz, the defensive coaches. We’re playing at a high level. Now you have to continue to play at a high level. Every week is going be a different challenge. But the way we stopped the run, which we knew — we know that when you’re playing Tennessee, you have to stop the run and you got to stop it getting off the bus. And I thought the guys did a really nice job knowing what the challenge was in front of us and I thought they stepped up to the challenge.”

Stefanski went on to credit defensive lineman Myles Garrett for leading the charge.

“I don’t know. I’m running out of things (to say about Myles),” Stefanski said. “Teams come in here and they say, don’t let 95 wreck the game. And he continues to do it.”

Garrett has already logged eight tackles, 4.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by Cleveland with the first overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Since then, Garrett has established himself as one of the league’s premier defenders, making four trips to the Pro Bowl and earning a pair of First-Team All-Pro selections.

Myles Garrett is coming off of a 2022 campaign in which he racked up 60 tackles and 16 sacks. He appears to be well on his way to another Pro Bowl-caliber season in 2023.

The Browns will host the Baltimore Ravens in a pivotal AFC North battle on Sunday.
