Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco is old. We know it, he knows it, and obviously his teammates know it, as defensive lineman Myles Garrett pointed out this week.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Garrett poked fun at Flacco’s age in a hilarious joke.

“For a guy like that it’s nothing new. He’s won at home, he’s won away,” Garrett said, via the Browns’ official YouTube account. “Just hoping he doesn’t expire before we get to the Super Bowl.”

Morbid, but funny, nonetheless.

Flacco turns 39 years old in a few days and will be guiding the Browns when they take on the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs on Saturday afternoon.

The veteran signed to Cleveland’s practice squad in late November and ended up starting the last five games of the regular season for the club, throwing for 1,616 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 60.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 90.2.

Most importantly, Flacco went 4-1 in his five starts to lead the Browns to a playoff berth.

Flacco has plenty of postseason experience from his days with the Baltimore Ravens, as he made the playoffs six times during his 11-year stint in Cleveland between 2008 and 2018. During the 2012-13 campaign, he led the Ravens to a Super Bowl championship.

After his long tenure in Baltimore, Joe Flacco spent one season with the Denver Broncos before joining the New York Jets for three years.

As for Myles Garrett, the superstar pass rusher racked up 42 tackles, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery en route to his fourth straight Pro Bowl selection.

The 28-year-old has earned five trips to the Pro Bowl overall while also notching First-Team All-Pro honors twice.

The Browns went 11-6 this season and are making just their second playoff appearance since 2003.
