Head coach Deion Sanders of the Colorado Buffaloes has already assembled one of the nation’s premier transfer portal recruiting classes, and his efforts aren’t slowing down.

Recently, the program successfully persuaded former Arizona State edge rusher BJ Green to change his commitment from the Washington Huskies.

Initially, Green had chosen the Huskies, but a change in coaching leadership led him to reevaluate his decision after Kalen DeBoer departed for Alabama. Sanders and his coaching staff seized the opportunity and secured the commitment of one of the top players available in the transfer portal.

Green’s impressive track record with the Sun Devils includes 60 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 36 games.

On3 rankings had him positioned among the top 25 players in the transfer portal class. His addition is a significant boost to an already formidable defense, which often carried the team even during times when the offense struggled.

Deion Sanders has been unreserved in his expectations for the program, expressing a strong belief that his team should compete in the College Football Playoff. The good news for the Buffaloes is that the playoff system has expanded to accommodate 12 teams, enhancing their chances of earning a spot.

Notably, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, two key players, are returning for another year and could potentially find themselves in the Heisman Trophy conversation. With a roster that has undergone a substantial overhaul, there is optimism for marked improvement over the previous season.

In 2024, the Colorado Buffaloes are poised to be an exciting team to watch. If they manage to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff, it could ignite a firestorm of excitement in the college football world.
