The Dallas Cowboys got all they could handle from the Seattle Seahawks in their Thursday Night Football matchup to kick off Week 13 of the 2023 regular season. It was a back-and-forth game, which the Seahawks were leading during the fourth quarter.

But, the Cowboys’ defense was able to get a few stops in the final quarter while the offense remained in high gear. They would score the final 14 points of the game to come away with a 41-35 victory.

For football fans who like to see some defense, this was not the game for you. For only the fifth time in NFL history, there wasn’t a single punt in a game. The teams combined for 817 yards of total offense as each unit moved the ball up and down the field at will.

Given how successful the offenses were, it should come as no surprise that there were some records set during the game. Cowboys’ wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was able to etch his name in the franchise record book with his performance.

Lamb caught 12 passes for 116 yards and one touchdown and honestly left some stats on the table. He suffered a few drops in the game which would have made his stats even more impressive.

Despite a few errors, he was still able to break the tie he had with former star and Hall of Famer, Michael Irvin. Thursday night was Lamb’s eighth career game with 10+ receptions and 100+ yardage, putting him in sole possession of first place in Cowboys’ history. Irvin had seven in his career while Jason Witten is third with six.

Earlier this season there were some questions about the workload Lamb was receiving. He wasn’t as big of a part of the team’s offense as many had expected, catching only four passes in four out of the first five games of the season.

That has changed, drastically, in recent weeks. Since that point, he has recorded at least six receptions in six out of seven games, separating himself as Dak Prescott’s No. 1 target in the passing game. Four of his 10+ reception and 100+ yard games came in this most recent stretch as well.
