Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has faced a lot of criticisms this offseason. His performance during the 2022 season, in the opinion of multiple people, is why the Cowboys were unable to advance beyond the Divisional Round once again.

In 2022, Dak Prescott’s season got off to a brutal start as he was injured in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The thumb injury that he suffered led to him missing the next five games, as Cooper Rush played well in his place.

Upon his return to the starting lineup, Dak Prescott’s turnover woes returned. While he didn’t throw an interception in his Week 7 return against the Detroit Lions, he threw plenty in the remainder of the season.

Despite playing in only 12 games, Dak Prescott led the NFL with 15 interceptions. In the playoffs, his Jekyll and Hyde performance was on full display. After tearing up the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during Super Wild Card Weekend with four touchdowns and zero turnovers, he threw two interceptions against the San Francisco 49ers.

Turnovers aren’t a new issue for Dak Prescott, who has thrown at least 10 interceptions in four out of his seven seasons as the team’s starting quarterback. It very well could have been five had he played in only five games during the 2020 season after suffering an ankle injury.

Despite those turnover woes, Dak Prescott has recorded one of the highest passer ratings in NFL history. His 97.8 actually puts him ahead of legends Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, who had a 97.2 and 96.5, respectively.

While impressive to be ahead of two excellent players in such a statistic, Dak Prescott would assuredly trade passer ratings in exchange for their postseason success. Brady has seven championship rings and five Super Bowl MVPs, while Manning has two rings and one Super Bowl MVP.
