The Denver Broncos stunned the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon, upsetting them by a score of 24-9 to avoid the season sweep.

Afterward, the Broncos did some rather hilarious (and clever) trolling of the Chiefs, blasting Taylor Swift in their stadium much to the delight of the remaining fans.

Of course, Swift has been dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and has been in attendance for many of the team’s games this season. She was not present at Empower Field at Mile High in Week 8, however.

Kelce logged six catches for 58 yards in the loss and has unquestionably seemed to perform better when Swift is in the building (no, seriously). As a matter of fact, last week, the eight-time Pro Bowler hauled in 12 receptions for 179 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s Week 7 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Swift was at Arrowhead Stadium for the contest.

For the Broncos, it represents clearly the squad’s best win of the season and actually improved their record to a respectable 3-5. Denver has now won two straight games and even played the Chiefs tough in Week 6 when it fell by a score of 19-8 in Kansas City.

The Broncos’ defense smothered the Chiefs this past weekend, holding them to 275 total yards and forcing them to go just 3-for-10 on third downs.

Moreover, Denver made life very difficult for Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as Mahomes went 24-for-38 with 241 yards and a couple of interceptions in what was one of the worst performances of his career. He posted a passer rating of just 59.2.

To be fair to Mahomes, he was battling a stomach bug, but credit also needs to be given to the suddenly capable Broncos defense for limiting him.

Denver will have a bye in Week 9 before attempting to win its third straight game when it heads on the road to battle the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 13.
