The Las Vegas Raiders have found themselves in a tough spot, but what else is new? That has led to trade rumors about their stars, including Maxx Crosby. Could the Detroit Lions try to pull off a blockbuster trade with the Raiders?
The Raiders have gotten off to a 1-3 start this season, and they have shown very little indication that they are going to turn things around in an AFC West division that includes the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers.
With the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline looming, many are speculating that Las Vegas will sell off some pieces in the coming weeks.
Could defensive end Maxx Crosby represent one of the players who could be on the move?
Now, it should be noted that Crosby is under contract through 2026, so the Raiders don’t have to be in any rush to trade him. However, let’s say Crosby becomes frustrated with the continual losing he has had to endure throughout his tenure with the franchise. Could he ask to be dealt?
If such a scenario arises, Gary A. Vasquez of A to Z Sports feels that the Lions should jump at the opportunity to add Crosby.
The Lions have lost one of their top pass rushers, linebacker James Houston, to the injured reserve list, so they could certainly use another guy who can get to the quarterback.
Crosby certainly fits that criteria.
Vasquez theorizes that Detroit could send Houston, a 2024 first-round draft pick, a 2024 third-rounder (via the Minnesota Vikings) and a 2025 fourth-rounder (via the Philadelphia Eagles) to Las Vegas for Crosby and a sixth-round pick.
That would certainly be a massive haul for the Raiders and would be something the club would potentially consider. Meanwhile, the Lions would land a star in their front seven who will help them in their push for an NFC North crown this season and beyond.
Maxx Crosby is coming off of back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances and has already logged 23 tackles and four sacks this season.
