Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson left his team’s loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon due to a right knee injury, and after the game, sports medicine physician Jesse Morse provided some insight into what could have happened to Watson.

Morse cites that Watson has had a significant injury history in the past, particularly to that right leg where he suffered some unfortunate damage in Week 7.

He says that he did not like the way Watson’s knee collapsed as he went to the ground and speculated that he could have tore his ACL.

But assuming it’s not a torn ACL, which would likely be the worst-case scenario, Morse says that it’s also possible Watson re-injured his meniscus, which has already been banged up in his past.

Watson tore his meniscus in college, and this past offseason, he underwent a minor procedure to clean out his knee.

Morse adds that it’s entirely possible that this could end up being nothing significant and that we will see for sure when the results from a potential MRI are released.

Watson had logged three catches for 27 yards before exiting. The 24-year-old, who missed the first three games of 2023 due to a hamstring injury, has totaled eight grabs for 143 yards and a touchdown in three contests this season.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at North Dakota State, was selected by the Packers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He played in 14 games during his rookie campaign, hauling in 41 receptions for 611 yards and seven scores.

There is no denying the talent of the 6-foot-4, 208-pound Christian Watson. It’s whether or not he can actually stay on the field that is the question.

Green Bay fell to 2-4 with its loss to the Broncos and will aim to snap its three-game losing streak when it hosts the Minnesota Vikings next weekend.
