The Kansas City Chiefs reeled off their six straight win by defeating the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but not without sustaining a potentially major loss in the process. Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton left the club’s Week 7 victory with a dislocated wrist, and sports medicine physician Jesse Morse provided a rather grim outlook on the situation.

Morse says that a dislocated wrist is a very painful injury (no surprise there) and that Bolton could end up missing the remainder of the season depending on the extent of the damage. Bolton will undergo surgery to repair the injury.

Bolton, who played his collegiate football at the University of Missouri, was selected by Kansas City in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has been a critical piece of the Chiefs’ defense ever since..

He enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign, playing in 16 games and registering 112 tackles, a fumble recovery, three passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

Then, last season, Bolton broke out, participating in every contest and racking up 180 tackles, a couple of sacks, a pair of interceptions, a forced fumble and three passes defended.

Through four games this year, the 23-year-old has logged 28 tackles, a pick and one pass defended. He totaled nine tackles against the Chargers before exiting.

Nick Bolton also missed some time earlier in the season, so he has not exactly had great luck as far as injuries in 2023.

Kansas City defeated Los Angeles by a score of 31-17 this past weekend in what was easily one of its best performances of the season. The Chiefs racked up a season-high 483 yards and hit the 30-point mark for only the second time this year. The first instance came back in Week 3, when Kansas City dropped 41 in a 31-point win over the Chicago Bears.

The Chiefs are 6-1 and will aim to complete the season sweep of the Denver Broncos next Sunday.
