New York Jets Warned About Making This Major Mistake

The New York Jets are one of the most intriguing teams to monitor heading into the NFL Draft.

The Jets own the 10th pick and seem to be angling toward selecting University of Georgia tight end Brock Bowers so long as he is on the board.

There are some who feel New York should opt to draft an offensive lineman to add some more protection for Aaron Rodgers, but Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton thinks Gang Green should double down on adding more weapons for the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback.

“The New York Jets must do whatever it takes to maximize Aaron Rodgers’ time as the franchise player,” Moton wrote. “The Jets need a top draft pick who’s going to be on the field and can make an immediate impact as a potential starter or a high-rotation player. They wouldn’t get the most out of their selection with a tackle who would be a fill-in for [Tyron] Smith.”

The Jets’ offensive line was miserable in 2023, but they were sure to address it during free agency, adding multiple pieces to bolster the unit—including Smith.

Of course, Rodgers only played one offensive series for New York last season before tearing his Achilles, ending the Jets’ championship aspirations.

Rodgers is recovering and seems to be full steam ahead to make his return in Week 1, and New York has been busy trying to ensure that his comeback is as seamless as possible.

The Jets signed wide receiver Mike Williams in free agency to complement Garrett Wilson, and they also went out and swung a trade for elite pass rusher Haason Reddick. Obviously, Reddick is a defensive player, but it shows New York is taking initiative to try and win a Super Bowl now.

It’s looking more and more like the Jets will select another weapon for Rodgers on April 25, whether that be Bowers or someone like Washington wide out Rome Odunze.

We’ll see what New York decides to do in a little over a week.
